Meet Anna
Committed to Excellence Together!
Welcome! My name is Anna, and I am excited to be running for the Prior Lake-Savage Area Schools school board. As a proud resident and business owner in Savage for the past sixteen years, I am deeply invested in the success and well-being of our children, our schools, and our community.
I spent the majority of my youth and my entire school career living in Eden Prairie, where I graduated and met my husband. My husband, Ryan, and I have been married for seventeen years, and together, we are raising three uniquely amazing children. All three of our children have attended PLSAS schools since our oldest started Pre-K in 2014. Starting in the 2025-2026 school year, I will have a child at the elementary, middle, and high school levels, giving me a unique perspective and personal stake in the quality of education and the future of our district for years to come.

MY BACKGROUND
Education has always been a central part of my life. Growing up with a mother who dedicated forty-three years to teaching and public education instilled in me a deep respect for teachers and a passion for education. Inspired by her passion, dedication, and strong work ethic, I have devoted my own career to various roles in education and childcare.

I have owned and operated my own Licensed Family Childcare business for the last thirteen years, where I have had the privilege of nurturing and educating our community's youngest learners while building strong family partnerships. Prior to opening my childcare, I spent seven years working as a SPED paraprofessional in one of Minnesota's largest school districts. This role allowed me to not only provide student support but also to collaborate with educators to enhance students' learning experiences. It provided invaluable insights into the needs of students and teachers, as well as the inner workings of our educational system.
In addition to my role as a paraprofessional, I served as an assistant director for the YMCA's before and after-school childcare program for eight years. In this capacity, I helped develop and manage programs that supported children's academic and personal growth. I have been employed since the age of fourteen, establishing a strong work ethic and a lifelong desire to learn, attributes that have enabled me to succeed in owning and operating my own business, where I play a foundational role in numerous children's and their families lives.

My commitment to our community extends beyond my professional work. Since 2016, I have been an active volunteer in our school community, serving as fundraiser coordinator and vice president for our PTC. Most recently, I had the honor of serving on our district's Strategic Planning Core Committee, contributing to shaping the future direction of our schools. I have worked with and cared for people and children from diverse backgrounds and needs. I take pride in my work ethic, my ability to build lasting relationships, and my role as a partner in raising our future.

I am running for school board because I care deeply about children's futures in education and life. I have witnessed and experienced the transformative power of education and am dedicated to ensuring every child in our district has access to high-quality, personalized learning opportunities. My experiences in education, childcare, and community involvement uniquely qualify me to advocate for our students, families, and educators.

Together, we can achieve excellence in our students, schools, and community.
